Navigating the Platform

Learn how to navigate the various features of the platform.

What are the basic navigation steps?

Here are some basic navigation instructions for the platform.


How can I change the language or time zone of the platform?

Once you have logged in, select the menu (☰) in the top left corner of the screen. Select the pencil icon next to your name/email and then select the Preferences tab. From there you can select a different language or time zone. However, note that this language selection only updates the language of the platform navigational features. To get access to a digital program in another language, submit a​ Support request.



Understanding the home page and programs

Once you sign in, you will be taken to your home page. From your home page, you can:

  • Select the menu (☰) in the top left corner for quick access to your home page, calendar, discussions, and resources.
  • View all your assigned programs.

o​ ​ ​ ​ To view the activities within a program, or the learning plan, select the program.

o​ ​ ​ ​ From the learning plan, launch individual activities, such as discussions, self-guided program modules, and fieldwork.

  • Scroll to the bottom of your home page to access your calendar, discussions, and resources.


Navigating module sections

Learning plans include self-guided program modules, which contain lessons on various topics and interactive content.

Once you launch a module, select ‘Get Started’ or ‘Begin Section’ to start moving through lesson pages.

  • In the top left, select the menu ☰ to view all pages within a module. Use this menu to navigate to a different page.
  • Or, use the right and left arrows ⬅ ➡ at the bottom right to navigate to the previous page or next page. ​
  • To exit the module, select the “✖” in the top right corner. ​
  • Different pages have different interactions available. ​ ​


In the example here, you can play a video, read the transcript of the video, and hover over the video to access the video menu.


Navigating back to the learning plan

You have two options for returning to the learning plan as you review individual activities:

  • Select the program from the navigation bar at the top of the page. This takes you back to the learning plan page.
  • Select the Learning Plan bar at the bottom. This opens the learning plan without taking you out of the current page. ​

If you’ve launched a module, you’ll need to close the module before being able to access your learning plan.


Accessing your calendar from the home page

Your calendar can show upcoming workshops, discussion reminders, skillset practice reminders, and other important program dates.

  • Scroll to the bottom of your home page.
  • Choose ‘My Calendar’ under Upcoming.

Once your calendar is open, you can:

  • Change display views by selecting ‘Display View’ in the top right.
  • Use the search bar to find a specific event.

Please note, calendar availability varies by program.


Accessing your discussions from the home page

Your discussion board makes it easy to view and interact with all your discussions in one place.

  • Scroll to the bottom of your home page.
  • Choose ‘View All’ under Recent conversations.

From your discussion board, you can:

  • Use the search bar to find a specific discussion.
  • View learning material related to a discussion topic by selecting the link at the right.
  • Select ‘Show More’ or ‘Reply’ to engage with a discussion.

Accessing your resources from the home page

Find all your resources, including supplemental readings, key takeaways, and more, in one place.

  • Scroll to the bottom of your home page.
  • Choose ‘View Now’ under Resources.

In the resources page, you can:

  • Use the search bar to find a specific resource.

Please note, available resources vary by program.


How do I join a live webinar from the platform?

There are two ways to join a webinar:

  • Select the program hosting the webinar from your home page. This will take you to the program learning journey, which will list the different activities for the program. Select the webinar you would like to join. Then, select the downward arrow to see more details. Once you do so, you will have the option to “Join the Webinar”. You can also access a webinar through the calendar on your homepage. Scroll to the bottom of your home page to see your upcoming events. Webinar sessions will be featured here and can be selected from here. Once selected, the same information as above will be available.
